HOCKEY.
A match will be played here on Saturday, 23: d inst., against Manawatu reps., and a real good game is looked forward to by the local sports. Last year’s representative match resulted in a win for Manawatu by five goals to two goals, which was considered much closer than generally expected. This year the local enthusiasts prophesy a still more even game. The team chosen to represent Foxton will be selected from the players in the match Foxton versus Moutoa to-morrow afternoon. All players are requested to roll up in order that the very best team procurable may be put into the field for the most important match of the season.
For the match to-morrow, the following will represent Foxton Club:—Cook, Fowler, Gordon, Johnson, Orwin, Woods, Gardner, Rough, Watson, Collins, and F. Levett.
