LIBEL ACTION.
On the nth May we received a letter from Messrs Bell, Gully and Cooper, of Palmerston North, on behalf of W. Hamer, de- ; x manding from us a “ full and complete withdrawal and an apology ’* for the statement published by us \ on the 22nd February last, in respect to the Foxton Club ' (billiard saloon), together with payment in full of their costs. We handed the demand to our solicitors with instructions to write declining the invitation, and further, instructions to acfcept service of the writ when issued, which they have accordingly done. The claim is for , and will be dealt with by the Judge and Jury sitting at Palmerston North in June next,
