Messrs Dalgely and Company, Limited, Wellington, nave received the following cable messages from their London House; Hemp:— Prices are lower and we now quote good fair £25 to £25 10s per ton. Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers’ CoOperative Associations, Wellington, report as follows, all quotations being f.o.b , port ot shipment, sacks free. Oats : —Trade visible is confined to store stocks, farmers preferring wailing further developments of prospect of market in Eastern Commonwealth States. Latter are drawing lightly, mostly milling. B. grade Danish list at 2s 6d, s-Bills and .Gartons 2s 7d, Duns 2s Bd. Seeds 2s nd. Wheat : —Firming in Home quarters has received sympathy in Commonwealth, Adelaide now quoting 4s 2d. Australian flour is being extensively handled far North, but not affecting Southern quotations, where wheat in first hand is firmly held, with no surplus to force sales, Tuscan and Velvet asking 4s qd, fowl feed 4s 7d. Potatoes: —Whites are finding ready outlet, and showing good condition at 955. Blues less available at 100 s, with upw'ard tendency. Maize : —Nominally ss, with small turnover. Barley : Malting quiet 5s 3d. Feed active 3s 6d. Cape 4s fid. Peas :—Partridge scarce 4s fid. Split £ls 10s. Bran :—Has hardened to £5 15s with orders filling for Sydney. Chaff ;—Reserves in stores are w T ell held, and values rising. Bright cut oat-sheaf realises 97 s fid. Medium 92s fid. Oat-straw 60s. Hay : —Rye-clover stands at 85s. Pressed straw 40s.
