On Saturday the New Zealand Professional All Blacks defeated Australia by n points to 10, The attendance was estimated at 20,000. Wynward (2) and Baskerville scored tries for New Zealand, of which Wrigley converted two.

For-Australia tries were scored by Hudge and Rosenfield, one being converted. Messenger also scored a goal from a mark. During the first spell Johnston was ordered off for striking the Australian captain in the face. The match between Albions and Sandon, which was to have been played on Saturday had to be abandoned owing to the local team being unable to get a conveyance to take them to Sandon.
