A MURDER SYNDICATE.
Some Gruesome Details.
New York, May 8
Mrs Guinness, who is supposed to have murdered a number of people for their insurance money, is aged 48, She is handsome and possessed of extraordinary strength. Thirteen bodies have been exhumed from her farm. They were buried with chloride of lime. It is expected more will be found. The police suspect that Mrs Guinness was a “murder fence,” or receiver of the bodies of victims assassinated by a Chicago murder gang. The bodies were dismembered apparently by an expert. Bessie Wallace, a girl of 20, has been arrested on suspicion of being a decoy in connection with Mrs Guinness’ matrimonial advertisements.
The police believe they are on the track of one of the greatest murder sjmdicates of the age. Five big trunks were recently delivered at Mrs Guinness’ farm from Chicago. They were placed in a secret room in the basement and were only opened by Mrs Guinness.
