ALLEGED NEGLECT.

Wellington , May 7. An inquest was opened yesterday on the body of the three months’ old child of lid ward and Amelia Peach. The evidence showed that the infant was put to bed in a go-cart at x‘i p.m. and was found dead at 8.40 next morning. The doctor’s evidence indicated that the child had been neglected. The inquest was adjourned till Friday. The jury, after retiring, brought in the following verdict“ That the child died from the want of the proper form of nourishment, and that no blame was attachable to the mother.”
