FOOTBALL.
Foxton Sub-Union’s Annual Meeting.
The annual general meeting of the Foxton Sub-Union was held in Whyte’s Hotel last night. Present :—Messrs Gower (President, in the Chair), W. J. White (Vicepresident), and the following delegates : Messrs Cook and Dickson (Albions), Warklyn, Reid, and Hynes (Awahou). The following officers were elected for the ensuing year: B. G. Gower, Esq. (re elected), Vicepresidents, Messrs 0. Robinson, F. S. Easton, G. H. Stiles, and J. Symons; Secretary, Mr Endel Wanklyn; Treasurer, Mr R. Hynes. The election of a Management Committee was held over until next meeting. Messrs Dickson and E. Wanklyn were appointed to draw up a set of rules to govern the Sub-Union.
On the motion of Mr White, seconded by Mr Hynes, the Secretary was instructed to write to the Horowhenua Union, asking if they would entertain the question of this union affiliating with them, and if so, Messrs White and Wanklyu were appointed to wait on that body, and ascertain on what terms this sub - union would be admitted.
It was decided that the Secretary write to Mr Sutherland, calling upon him to forward the balance-sheet and all books belonging to the Union to the Secretary, by May 6th. The next meeting of the Union was fixed for Wednesday next, April 29th.
Votes of thanks to the chair and to Mr White for use of room concluded the meeting.
