SUDDEN DEATH.
A sudden death took place on the Moutoa Estate yesterday forenoon, when William Henry Cameron, married, aged 38 years, a flax carter in the employ of Mr O, Austin, dropped dead while engaged in loading his cart. It appears that deceased was in conversation with William Howie and Samuel Saville when he suddenly fell to the ground and expired without uttering a sound. A communication was sent to the police and Dr Mandl. On the doctor’s arrival he pronounced life to be extinct. The body was conveyed to the deceased’s late x-esidence, Johns n St., where a post raoitem was held this morning. Deceased was well-known throughout Foxton and district, having lived here nearly the whole of his life, and followed the occupation of flaxtramming and carting. He was a man of sober habits, and very industrious, and was held in great respect by his fellow workmen. The news of his demise came as a great shock to his wife, as the first intimation she received of the happening was when the body was being brought into the house. Much sympathy is extended to the widow. An inquest is being held at deceased’s residence as we go to press, before Alf. Fraser, Esq., Coroner, and the following jury . Messrs Thos. Wankl>n, Alex. Speirs, Walter Alzdorf, John Nicholson, John McDowell, and P. T. Robinson. The cause of death is attributed to heart disease.
