A marriage which created a good deal of local interest took place at “Tirohanga,” Foxton, on Thursday last, April yth, when Miss Lily Austin was married to Mr J. Park, of Onehunga, Auckland. The bride, who was given away by her brother, wore a charming gown of while crystalline, trimmed with lace and silk embroidered net. Her ornaments included a pearl and diamond brooch, and a handsome gold bangle set with diamonds (the gilts of the bridegroom). A bridal veil worn with a coronet of orange blossoms, and shower bouquet, completed the toilette. The-bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a solid silver cigar ease. Miss Minnie Austin (sister of the bride) acted as bridesmaid, and was attired in a pretty white embroidered frock trimmed with val lace and sash of white merveillenx ribbon, and wore a nice pendant and chain (gift of the bridegroom). Mrs Austin (mother of the bride) were a black broche gown trimmed with silk lace and chiffon. After the ceremony, the guests adjourned to the dining room, where a dainty breakfast was served. The wedding gifts wore numerous and handsome. The happy couple, on leaving for their honeymoon, which will be spent in Rotorua, journeyed via the Wanganui River. The bride’s travelling costume was a tailormade coat and skirt of navy blue cloth, and cream glace silk hat, trimmed with silk and uncurled ostrich feathers.
