Mr F. Pownall, of the New Zealand and Canterbury Farmers’ Co-operative Associations, Wellington, reports as follows, all quotations being f.0.b., port of shipment, sacks free, unless specified. Oats: —Stackings generally are complete, with southern growers determined to weather winter before threshing, causing shortness in supply.' Ruling values restrict outside competition, aud can yet go higher, B Grade Danish and Cartons costing zs s}4d, S-Bills 2s 6d, Duns zs yd. Wheat :—Millers are stocking quietly, preparing for flour fluctuations which must rise in sympathy with wheat, present landed cost of Australian temporarily restricting. Tuscan aud Velvet find ready outlet at 4s Bd. Fowl feed similar. Potatoes : Consumption brisk, whitest 15s, Blue keepers £5 17 6d. Outlook downward, heavy supples available. Maize :—has small business 4s yd. Barley :—Malting lively at 5s 3d. Cape scarce 3s gd. Feed dull 4s. Peas :—Partridge actiAe at 4s 6d. Whites 6s, Split ios. Bran: —Better request at £5 ss. Pollard : Orders continue unfilled at £6 10s Mills short. Oatmeal -.—25 s list at small rise anticipated. Rolled oats ,£lB, Oatiua 10s 6d. Chaff ;—North with bare crops ask loosse. Southern momen : tarily easier 92s 6d si, but with first cuts off hand, value will harden considerably. Straw chaff 42s 6d se. Grass Seed :—Sowing is in full swing. Heavy M.D, Rye firm at 6s. Cocksfoot B}4d Imported white clover 90s. Cowgrass 105 s. Rape 355.
