New York, March 18. On March 2 it vyas reported that, irritated.by the police efforts to discover. the murderer of Father Heinrichs, a Catholic priest, at Denver, au Anarcnist named Averluch gained admittance to the residence of Mr Shippy, Chief of the Chicago police, wounded Mr Shippy’s son and coachman, and then shot and stabb.d Mr Shippy, who finally shot the man dead. It has now been'ascertained that Averluch, the alleged Anarchist, was merely trying to obtain a passport.
