SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The ordinary meeting of the Foxtou School Committee was held in the library at 8 p.m., on Thursday last. Present: Messrs Baker (Chairman), Frankland, Heunessy, Henderson, G. Coley, Levett, Betty, and the Secretary (Mr P. H. Rae-Howard). The minutes of the last meeting and one special meeting, were read and confirmed. Correspondence was read from the Education Board, in reference to gardening tools, and offering subsidy cf £ for £ up to £g ios for erection of iron fence; also notifying that the services of an instructor in wood carving for technical classes would be available when technical school is opened. Accounts amounting to £7 3s 3d were passed for payment. An application from Mrs Knapp, school cleaner, for increase of salary,.was held over for the incoming committee to deal with. Proposed by Mr G. Coley, seconded- by Mr Frankland, - That tenders be called for the erection of an iron fence on the school grounds and the trees. —Carried. The Chairman was instructed to confer with Mr Fraser, member of the Board, re details of fence.
