London Markets.
Dalgety and Company, limited, Wellington, have received the following cable messages from their London House, under date of the sth instant: — Frozen Meat. There is an active demand for lamb, prices are very firm and tending upwards. Muttocj better demand, and prices show an upward tendency. Poor demand tor beef, but prices are unchanged. Our quotations for New Zealand descriptions are : Prime x-bred lamb, Canterbury, heavy weights, Prime x-bred mutton, Canterbury, heavy weights, Prime x-bred lamb, North Island slight, Prime crossbred mutton, North Island heavy weights, 3}4d ; light, 3%d ; prime x-bred ox beef, fores, North Island, heavy weights, Butter. —Copenhagen official quotation is unchanged. The total imports of butter into the United Kingdom for week ending 29th ultimo amounted to 74,000 cwt. as compared with 107,000 for the corresponding week of 1907 : showing a decrease of 33,000 cwt. The market is firm with an upward tendency. Finest Ix6s per cwt. Taeeow. —Good to prime mutton tallow, rs lower since our last advices. Medium to good descriptions are 6d lower. Inferior descriptions are a shade easier. Buyers are operating with great care. Rabbitskins,— The market closed without change in prices. Out of an offering of 3211 bales 2761 were sold.
