CRICKET.
The Foxton Cricket Club journeyed to Rongotea yesterday to , play a friendly match with the local Club, and had the unique experience of playing a tie match, and as they were somewhat late in starting, and the visitors wished to leave whilst it was daylight, ' and there were indications of rain, it vras decided to let the match rest there. Foxton went in first, and scored 41, Redgrave makings 21 in. quick time. The veteran, Reade, who has not played for four years, and who went up to umpire, was induced to play. He went in firstj wicket down, and carried his bat out for 11, being warmly congratulated on his performance. Redgrave and Nelson, by good bowling, disposed of their opponents for 41, the former catching off his ownr bowling the last man, when the score was a tie. On their return journey, when about one-third of the distance had been accomplished, the Foxtonians had the pleasure of enjoying a shower bath aU the way home. < Following are the scores FOXTON. < ; .
