COOPER’S OPERASCOPE COMPANY.
Mr Charles Cooper, of biogtaph fame, will, inaugurate a short sea* son of two nights on Monday night next. On Monday night a programme will be submitted, the star item being the latest and most marvellous moving picture yet imported to this country, that of Gilbert and Sullivan’s famous comic opera, “ The Mikado.” This film is coloured almost from start to finish, and is a faithful reproduction of the opera as performed by D’Oyly Carte’s company at the Savoy Theatre, London. In addition to the audience, being able to see the production, they will also hear the principal' lyrics, choruses and orchestrations,' an innovation which should be a decided improvement. Another feature will be that of Lewis Carroll’s popular panto* mine, . “ Alice in Wonderland,” and should particularly appeal to the rising generation, We are informed by the management that Mr Charles Cooper has expended no less than on bis 1908 programme, which will be produced for the first time in Wanganui. Mr Cooper’s entertainers have invariably been acknowledged as the finest picture shows in New Zealand, but we are given to understand that hejintends eclipsing anything hitherto shown with the programme to be submitted during his season here. In addition to the items mentioned above, the yery latest comic subjects, have been procured, and will be a .feature of the programme. . The management has engaged Fisher and Wilson, the well-known musical comedy sketch artists, who will appear in the latest hits of the day and original §ket£frf||
