A MYSTIC 1 YEAR.

1908 is a mystic year, remarks a Tondon contemporary. Add the figures contained therein together, and you get 18 f a multiple, of 9, and these figures added gives us 9. Add the first two figures to the last two thus, 19 plus,, 08, and.we have 27, another multiple of *g, which, when added together, again gives 9. If We add all the figures we have so far mentioned, thus—r!goß cause plusfiS plus 9 plus 9 plus 19 plus 08 plus 27 plus 9 plus g, we get 2016, and these figures added gives us 9. Now if we add the figures of 1908 to the last.sujn, viz., 2016, we get 3924, which, when added, give us 18, another multiple, with the same addition as before, viz., 19.' These combinations are remarkable, but carrying them further, we find that by adding 1908 to the sum thus obtained, viz., 3924 and 2016, the sum is 7848. Add these figures together and the result is 27, a multiple of 9, which, when added as before, gives us 9. Further, if we add the first two figures of the last sum to the last two, thus 78 plus 48, we get 126, and these figures when added give 9. If we subtract 9 from 126 we have 117, which, when added together, is again 9. Subtract 9 Pom 117, and we have 108, which, when added together is again 9. Subtract 9 from 108, and 99 is left. Added together, they make 18, a multiple of nine, and the figures 1 and 8 make 9 when added together. And so on. Really 1908 must be a mystic year, as well as a leap year.
