DEMAND FOR LAND.
Dannevirke, January 29. For thirty Raumati sections near Dannevirke, which will be balloted for to-morrow, there are ninety-eight applications from fifty-six people, with the possibility of a few more from Napier. The Land Board is engaged to-day examining applicants. Considerable objection has been raised to the new regulation compelling in this case the payment of eleven months’ rent in advance.
