WHARFAGE RETURNS FOR 1907.
During the year 1907 the following goods were entered inwards at the Foxton wharf: — Timber, 164,400 sup. feet; 10,598 tons of general merchandise ; 12,042 tons of railway coal, and 12,202 tons of public coal; amount paid in wharfage, ,£1784 9s Bd. Outwards. sheep, 50,006 ft timber, and 5925 tons of general merchandise including hemp and tow ; wharfage, river bank lands fii2 ss. Total revenue 6s 46. There were 227 vessels entered inwards and Outwards at the wharf of which* number the s.s. Queen of the South registered 85 trips, Gertie 26, Himatangi 25, Moa 19, Charles Edward 17, Putiki 16, Kennedy 13, Waverley 12, Wootton 7, Baden Powell 5, Alexander and Thistle 1 each.
12,528 bales of hemp, 2,893 bales Of tow and 3,035 bales of wool passed over the wharf. These figures do hot include a consideramount of hemp and tow forwarded from Foxton by rail.
