THE OPOUITI TRAGEDY.

There are no additional particulars of the tragedy at Opouiti. At the inquest on Irwin a verdict of suicide while temporarily insane was returned. Unfounded jealousy was said to be the cause. The weapon used was a fowlingpiece, and deceased deliberately re-loaded after each shot.
