Much infantile sickness is prevalent in Foxtou at present, and we again issue a warning to parents in reference to the indiscriminate use of tank water for drinking purposes without first boiling the same. We are informed that some of the tanks from which householders draw their supply are in a filthy condition. The tanks, many of which are iron, are exposed to the sun’s rays, aud the water is thereby rendered anything but palatable. How long we shall have to wait before the local authority initiates a water supply for the borough, we cannot tell. Some skin-flints, rather than spend a little money on extra rates, are prepared to sacrifice the health of the whole community. In the meantime we respectfully suggest that the Council request the nuisance inspector to examine all household tanks in the borough ; or, better still, obtain the services of the Distiict Health Officer to do the work. While the hot weather continues householders should see that the water is boiled before being used for drinking purposes.
