“SAUCE TOR THE GOOSE, ETC.”
1 To the Editor. Sir, —In the last issue of your paper a report appears giving particulars of a raid made by the police upon a two-up school, and the subsequent arrest of two ot the ringleaders. Your report says it createda “ little mild excitement.” Perhaps it did, but it seems a little one-sided to me that these, .professional- gamblers receive, such close police surveillance, and respectable gambling schools are winked at. In my opinion the- “respectable coterie ” are entitled to, the same police attention as the gang which was surprised, by. the police the other night • . Tell me the;difference, sir, between . the professional gang : and the “ respectable coterie.” Both.cets are breaking the law, and I think the. police should bestow tbe same attention on both. Thanking you in anticipation,—l am, etc., , Fair Plav.
