K For the second time this season I Foxton met the Debaters yester- ■ day, and victory again rested with the first named. The latter, however, were somewhat handicapped by the absence of their best men, and rather than forfeit the game, obtained the services of outsiders. The Debaters batted first, and made the fair score of 53, Betty with 13, and Jim Rough 10, being the principal scorers. Nelson bowled most c-cditably, securing six wickets for 12 runs. On going to bat, Foxton started very well, The first two putting up 49 before being separated, and when four .jWvickets had fallen for 114. the ■Knnings was declared closed. Mfßaillie gave a first-class display in HF making 62 not out, giving only ■ one chance, and that was not an W easy one, whilst Furrie played in fV his usual free style in compiling *> 33, The Debaters did better in their second venture, putting up 41, Betty 14 and Woods 16 for four wickets, and thus saving a one innings defeat. Australia, is causing great excitement throughout Australia and England. Australia made a poor stand in the first innings, only . compiling 285, England following with 363. The nopes of the Australians have been raised by the feet that 397 stands to their credit in the second attempt for the loss of seven wickets. Nothing short of a phenominal second innings can give the victory to England.
