England defeats the All Blacks.

London, January 12

The New Zealanders played their first inter-national match on Saturday, meeting a team representing the professionals of England.

England won by three goals and four tries, to New Zealand’s two goals and four tries. Both sides were the strongest teams possible. It was an even game all through, England led at half time by 8 points to 5, but New Zealand equalised play in the second spell, and there was a great struggle till the end, England winning as above.
