CRIMEAN AND INDIAN VETERANS.
London, Jan. 8. Lord Roberts has made an appeal to the nation for funds to rescue Crimean and Indian Mutiny veterans from the workhouse. ■' King Edward has become patron of the fund, and has subcribed a thousand guineas. The Prince of Wales, the Duke of Connaught, and Prince Christian are vice-patrons, and an extremely influential committee has been formed to further the project.
