FOOTBALL.
All Blacks’ Profits. Auckland, Dec. 17. In a letter to an official of the the Auckland Rugby Union, dated November 7th, J. C. Gleeson, who is acting as Secretary of the New Zealand professional footballers, says:—“Professionalism is extending all through Wales. I think Swansea and Cardiff will be be playing professional football next year. In nine matches played so far we have far exceeded the takings of last team. We expect tremendous gates at Wigan, Oldham, and Huuslet (December 26). After next week it will be all profits, as the expenses are now all paid. We will probably play three test matches, one in Leicester, which has revolted against the amateur code, one in Wales, and one in London. I honestly think this tour will realise ,£IO,OOO profits.’’
