THE McEWEN FUND.
(to the editor.) Sir, —Can you tell me why the public, through the medium of your paper, has not been made aware of what has become of, or who is holding the funds collected for the unfortunate footballer, McEwen, whose leg was amputated at the Palmerston Hospital, as the result of an accident on the football field. Plas any money been paid over to McEwen ? What were the amounts collected at the football matches ? What amount was netted from the production of the Flower Queen play the first night for this purpose ? The public have subscribed to this fund, and have a right to know how the matter stands. Perhaps the Secretary of the Sub-Union could enlighten a few anxious enquirers. All tfiat several subscribers want to know is, how does the fund stand ? Hoping you will publish this in order to stir the matter up. —I am, etc., Subscriber.
