A GRIEVANCE.

(TO THE EDITOR.) Sir, —I wish to ventilate grievance, re the smoke nuisance in Union Street. Firstly, there is a fire burning day and night at the rope works, secondly at the timber yards day and night, which, I think, is a breach of the borough by-laws. Being a sufferer from asthma, it is not very pleasant to have one’s house full of smoke at all hours during this hot weather. Hoping some abler pen than mine , will take this up and see that the nuisance is abated. —'Yours etc., A Resident.
