CRICKET.
Moutoa v. Debaters.
This match was played in the Park yesterday, in perfect weather for cricket and was won by the country team in a most easy manner, by one innings and 50 runs to spare. Seldom has such a run away victory been seen in Foxton. The chief factor for the tiers was Redgrave, the exlington rep., who, in addition aking the highest score, was deadly with his puzzling breaks, took the majority of the wickets. He was well supported by O. Cleland, who showed stubborn defence for his 24. J. Bowe also showed good play in compiling this runs. The Debaters were hard pressed for change of bowling till Gordon’ arrival, who soon disposed of th« s Moutoa tail. On going to the wickets, the Debaters could not make anything of the bowling of Redgrave and Bowe, Gordon being the only one to make a fair show, and were quickly disposed of for the small totals of 17 and 22., During the afternoon the Debaters entertained their opponents at afternoon tea, which was much appreciated.
