THE McCALLUM FAMILY.

In contradistinction to the composition of most family musicians, the McCallum’s, who open in the Public Hall, Foxton, on Monday, December 2nd, are notable for the large proportion of star entertainers in their ranks, and the versatility of their talents. Mr Harold McCallum, who toured Australia with the greatest of English baritones, Andrew Black, is considered the foremost violinist of Australia. Mr L. Stuart McCullum is a flautist of no mean order of merit. On hearing him play, Herr De Chancet, the great composer, said: “Mr McCallum’s interpretation of the work left nothing to be desired,” The ringing resonant tone which he obtains from his silver flute, is superb. The Ballarat Courier says : “ The contralto of the company is Miss Flora McCallum, a young lady as graceful as she is accomplished. She has a voice of beautiful quality and finish. The tone is exquisite, of a rich velvety texture. ’ ’ Melbourne Punch says: “ Mr Archie MaCallum has a voice of wide range, fluent, and of good timbre, with a fair amount of that baritone masculine quality all so needful. Melbourne Argus says of Miss Queenie Burrowes: — “There are few who can excel this talented young lady in the matter of versatility, she being an accomplished elocutionist, an attractive singer, and possesed of histrionic ability that serves her well in comediettas, etc.” The public of Foxton and surrounding district will have only one opportunity of hearing this great company on December 2nd. The Quealeys (Harry and Nellie) for many years played leading parts with the old Pollard Opera Company, have been engaged, and will supply humourous songs, sketches and expert dancing, imparting variety of a high-class nature to the repertoire of the company. The Dominion Bioscope and newest films will help to make an entertainment, the like of which has never before been introduced to the public of Foxton,
