SUPPLEMENTARY ESTIMATES.
♦ The Supplementary Etsimates, which were brought before the House ou Saturday night by the Right Hon. Sir J. G. Ward (Minister of Finance), make provision for an expenditure of ,£322,366. of which £227,607 is from the consolidated fund and £94,750 from the public works fund. Among the items of district interest are the following ;
Deepening channel of Manawatu river, £IOO ; Manawatu river protection (subsidy £1 for £1 up to £4000), ou account, £SOO. Roads : Levin to Foxton, Horowhenua, £150; Leviu-Kereru-Shannon, Horowhenua, £IOO.
