ELTON COMEDY COMPANY.
The above company opened for a three nights’ season in the Public Hall on Thursday evening to a good house. The bill-of-fare, in point of excellence, was such as is seldom served up by any company of variety artists. Mr Fred Elton is a born comedian, and is funny enough to make the prov&rbial cat laugh. He can’t help being funny —its the nature of the man, yet his humourous sayings are free from vulgarity which too often accompanies comedy. Miss Elton is a very talented musician and versatile artiste, and was vociferously applauded for her several turns, particularly the musical items. Mr Fred Meymott mystified the audience with his conjuring tricks. The serio songs and dances by Miss Winnie Rhodes were undeniably encored. To-night a complete change of programme is promised, and all who have not yet seen this talented company should not fail to put in an appearance.
