ATHLETIC SPORTS.

Monday Next. The big attraction for Monday next is the Athletic Club’s sports, to be held on the local Park. All the arrangements for a successful gathering have been made, and it only remains for the weather to keep fine to ensure a most successful meeting. The Borough Band will discourse music at intervals during the day. The running and cycling events shou'd provide some exciting finishes, and the baby show should bring fame to some local mother. We only hope that the judges’ lives in this particular event are insured. A special feature will be the flax-spreading competition. This item is creating a good deal of interest among flaxmill employees. All the events will be got off sharply to time, so that there will be no long waits. A refreshment booth will be on the ground. The first event is timed to start at n a.ra.
