THE McCULLOUGH CASE.
Christchurch, October 16. Mr J. A. McCullough has so far received no final reply from the Government relative to his suspension, and is quite at a loss to understand the delay. He stated to a reporter yesterday that it seemed as if the Government were delaying matters so that the popular feeling aroused by the suspension might have cooled down by the time the final dismissal was decided upon, or were waiting for him to commit a further breach of the regulations by addressing a public meeting, so as to strengthen their position should they decide to dismiss him. mr McCullough dismissed. Wellington, October 16. Mr McCullough, who has been a tinsmith in the Addington Railway Workshops for 25 years, has been dismissed from the Railway Department as the result of his refusal to give an undertaking not to take part in political affairs in the future.
