SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
A meeting of the above was held in Mr F. W. Frankland’s residence on Thursday night. Present: Messrs L. Wilson (chairman), Baker, Hennessy, Levett, Perreau, and Frankland (secretary). A letter .was read from a parent making a complaint against a teacher —Letter laid on the table.
The chairman explained that the subject of technical education had been held over from last meeting. Mr Baker expressed the hope that another winter would not lie allowed to pass without a technical school being inaugurated. The subject of technical education was held over till next monthly meeting.
The Secretary was instructed to write to the Education Board stating that as the committe are still moving in the matter of technical Education the committee hopes that the old school house can be used for that purpose. Mr Levett stated that the headmaster had received a letter from Mr Amos (director of technical education) urging that the allimportant thing was to start as early as possible, even if it were only a single continuation class and with only a small number of attendants, instead of waiting till a large attendance could be obtained. The meeting then rose.
