S.M. COURT RETURNS.

We have to thank Constable Woods, Clerk of the local Court, for the official returns for the quarter ending Sept. 30th 1907 : Number of sittings by the S.M., 3 I by Justices, 21 ; total 24. Civil cases heard by Magistrate, 63Amount sued for 4s 4d ; amount recovered, ,£lO7 2s Bd. Number of applications heard in chambers, 8 , number of plaints, 44Number of summonses served, 128. Amount of civil fees paid in stamps £7 ns. Fifty persons apprehended or summoned ; five discharged ; 32 summarily dealt with ; five otherwise dealt with ; amount of fees paid in stamps 13s. Six , applications for Old Age Pensions were received, five granted and one pending.
