The Pacific Cruise. New York, September 28.
The Washington correspondent of the New York Times, after an interview with President Roosevelt, declares that the United States Atlantic fleet’s projected cruise in the Pacific is due to Japan’s constant hectoring of American resources, Friendly diplomacy had been almost exhausted in trying to meet the captious views of the Japanese. Uondon, September 28. The New York correspondent of The Times says that the attitude of the American press has been distinctly provocative. Many newspapers have made sneering reference to Japan’s quiescence since the cruise had been decided upon.
