SUB-UNION CONCERT.
There was only a fair attendance at the concert held last evening. .Nevertheless, those present appreciated:, the efforts of the different vocalists, and encores were numerous, Messrs G. Fowler, R. McGregor, and J. Pickering rendered some pleasing solos, while Mr Percy Jeffreys fairly brought down the house with bis comic turn “ Meet me at the Church,” and other items. Messrs Sutherland and Heorthen were well received, while' the popular Dan Heagerty received due reward for his rendering of Henry Lawson’s ‘‘ln the Steerage” and other items. Mr Lenihan provided a step and jig to perfection, while the most pleasant items of the evening were the sailor’s hornpipe and cakewalk by the youthful Miss Crichtons. Mr J. Jillett acted as stage manager. The local Band played selections outside the hall prior to the concert.
