LIGHT WEIGHT BREAD.
Wellington, Yesterday. The provisions of the Pure Food Bill regarding light weight bread were ihe subject of a deputation to the Mini .ter for Public Health from the .Wellington Master Bakers’ Association. The deputation was under the impression that by the terms of the Bill every loaf of bread delivered by a baker had to be weighed at the door, and any deficiency made up. Against this the deputation entered an emphatic protest. In reply, the Minister said there was no general weighing provided for by the Bill. It simply put on bakers the onus of proving that the bread they sold was the weight it was represented to be.
