VACANCY IN THE COUNCIL.
It is with pleasure that we are able to announce that Mr F. K. Jenks, our esteemed townsman, has consented to become a candidate for a seat on the Borough Council rendered vacant b> T the resignation of Cr O. E. Austin. Mr Jenks needs no introduction to the burgesses from us. He is not new to municipal life, and possesses a knowledge of the requirements of the town in which he has resided for so many years. It was not without a little persuasion that Mr Jenks was prevailed upon to sacrifice a portion of his valuable time, if elected, for tbe welfare and good government of the borough. We are certain the electors will not regret their choice in returning Mr Jenks as one of their representatives. So far as we are able to learn no other names are mentioned. Mr Jenks is not the class of citizen who would altogether relish a walk-over. With other Richmonds in the field he should, however, be able to give a good account of himself.
