HORTICULTURAL ASSOCIATION.
A meeting of the committee of the above was held last evening at Mr Perreau’s rooms. There was a fair attendance, the majority , being ladies.’ Mr Woods was voted / to the chair. ‘ \ A good deal of correspondence was read from those who signified their willingness to accept the positions on the Association to which they had been elected, all wishing the Association success, and enclosing ’ subscriptions and donations. The catalogue selected was only parity revised, and in order to have this done thoroughly it was proposed by Mr Rae-Howard and seconded by Mr Newth that the ladies of the committee meet and go through the different catalogues and compile a list of the most suitable items for this district, same to be presented at the next meeting of the Association this day fortnight. Carried. The ladies decided to meet at Miss Symons’ residence on Friday afternoon next at half-past two o’clock to discuss and make any additions thought advisable. The Chairman proposed and Mr Bullard seconded, Seeing that the Association is so firmly established from a financial standpoint, the Secretary be instructed to procure the necessary setofbooks. Carried. It was proposed by Mrs Stewart / and seconded by Mrs Hornblow, / That the rules of the Waifarapa Society as read be adopted. Carried. The most suitable date on which to hold the show will be discussed and decided on at the next meeting of the Association. Immediately on fixing date and compilation the catalogues will be printed and circulated. Members’ and ladies’ tickets are being issued by the Secretary. A vote of thanks to Mr Perreau and the Chairman terminated the meeting.
