■— *■ • St. Petersburg, Sept. 10. The battleship Paul 1., of 17,000 tons, has been launched at St Petersburg. She has cost the sum of ,£1,700,000. The tone of all the Russian press is uniformly friendly to England. Old suspicions have apparently been buried. Fremantle, Sept. 10. The Shaw-Savill steamer Tokoinara, bound from Port Pirie to Du:ban, put in here for repairs. She encountered a terrific hurricane, and lost 25ft of her bulwarks. A life boat was smashed, and it is feared a number of the vessel’s plates were strained, London, September 10. Mr McKenna, President of the Board of Education, in a letter to the Eeicester Nonconformists, stated that the Government will press forward another Bill next year with all the resources at its command. Raisuli’s Demands. London, September 10. The Times says it ;s impossible for any civilised Government to concede Raisuli’s demands. [Raisuli’s final terms for the release of Kaid Sir Harry Maclean, as submitted to the British Legation at Tangier, include a guarantee of British protection, and Raisuli’s appointment as Pasha of the district fromTetuan to Earache, besides an indemnity.]
