The Manawatu Herald. TUESDAY, SEPTEMBER 10, 1907 'BAIRNIES CUDDLE-DOON.’

The ; recalcitrate members of the Liberal Party who “ went back ” on their leader last week, when voting on the tariff proposals, have been again received into the bosom of Sir Joseph. The naughty boys were taken into the Ministerial Chamber, and confessed that they “ didn’t mean to do wrong ” and would not sin again. .-Then explanations were forthcoming from those who had fallen from grace, and the world was told that it was the naughty newspaper that caused the trouble. Its all very fine for Sir Joseph to try and gloss the matter over, but he received a “ nasty jar,” otherwise he would not have laid plans for a dissolution. We have said before, and we again repeat that he has trouble ahead. The old leader and disciplinarian is dead, and the malcontents are demanding more rope. If a dissolution does take place, they have one chance of regaining their seats—Buckley’s.
