MOUTOA NOTES.

Moutoa settlers have nothing to complain of in regard to postal arrangements as there are two lines of mail coaches running between Foxton and Shannon now, added to which is the telephone sendee, and when it is extended through to Shannon will bring us right up-to-date.
The lovely spring weather we have had lately has greatly improved the appearance of the country and if it only continues a little longer, feed will soon be ' plentiful. Most of the sheep farmers report splendid lambing returns and with sheep at their present high value, , the sheep farmer is a happy individual.
A most enjoyable dance was held out here on Wednesday evening, all the younger generation of Moutoaites attended and appeared to enjoy themselves thoroughly The Secretary of the Hockey Club wishes to acknowledge receiving £i is from Mr F. S. Easton the club’s patron and also xos from Mr F. Gardener, vice president.
