London, August 27. Obituary.—The Earle of Dun--111 ore, suddenly. Seventy-four alpine fatalities have already been recorded this season. Nhw York, Aug 27. The New York Herald has started an agitation in favour of the Philippines to Japan or auyother power. Many prominent public men support the proposition. Some even contend that America should give them away if they are unable to sell the group. During the manoeuvres on Berkshire Downs, the Horse Guards and Lancers collided during a charge. Two Lancers were killed aud 20 injured. General French was nearly ridden down. Mr Morley, in announcing a marked improvement in the Punjaub, hinted at the early release of the exiled agitators if there was reason to believe thev would not renew their agitations.
