MURDER OF A YOUTH.
Rome, August 24. A sensational crime is reported from Palermo. A cab-driver and three men, all convicts, were arrested in the city after depositing in a suburb and setting fire to two tiunks containing the remains of an • unknown , murdered youth. One trunk was burnt. The other partly burnt, contained a head, arms, and a leg. The victim was a lithographer named Henri Francais. This man had helped one- of his murderers, a man named Sacco, to forge bank notes, and the two men had a quarrel, which ended in the murder of Francais.
According to some accounts, all the men belong to the “ Maffia” Society, and it was suspected that the victim wished to divulge secrets.
[The ‘ ‘ Maffia ” is a formidable secret Society in Sicily, organised for the purpose of promoting smuggling and protecting its members against the police.]
