The rep. match Manawatu y. Foxton which was to have been played at Palmerston on Wednes- V day, has been abandoned. \ The Manawatu reps, defeated Hawke’s Bay at Palmerston, on Saturday, by 14 points to six. During the first spell Manawatu tailed to score. For the winners, McMinn, Hewitt, Martis, and Carroll scored tries, the last of which was converted by Shadbolt. Thow scored a try for the visitors, Caulton kicked a goal from a mark. The Rev. C. C. Harper officiated as referee. Twenty-thousand spectators witnessed the first professional match between the All Blacks and New South Wales at Sydney, on Saturday. The game resulted in a win for the All Blacks, by 12 points to eight.
