Petitions for its abolition.

Numerous petitions, with the total number of signatures, 36,000, praying for the abolition of the totalisator, were presented to the House to-day by various members. Petitions for retention have beenr coming in during the session. V Hearty laughter was caused by : several prominent racing supporters in the House presenting a petition for abolition of the totalisator.
