FOOTBALL.
Napier, Yesterday.
The professional Rugby team will play a mach.in Paris on its way home, and an invitation has been accepted to play in California on its return to the colony. The team will be known as the “ All Blacks,” wearing the same costume as the former New Zealand team. No less than 160 applications were received for places in the team and the selected members will assemble in Sydney, where three matches will be played, followed, probably, by others in Melbourne arid Adelaide. Mr J. C. Gleeson, of Napier, has been appointed playing manager.
Wairarapa v. Manawatu. Easy Win for the Former. Masterton, August 1. The Wairarapa and Manawatu teams met at Masterton to-day. Neither team was full}' represented, and a poor display of football was witnessed. Wairarapa had the best of the game, and won by eleven points to three. Gray scored a try for Wairarapa, which E. McKenzie converted. McKenzie also kicked two goals. Martiss scored a try for Manawatu. Groube and H. McKenzie, of the Wairarapa team, were injured in the second spell, and both retired, Wairarapa playing with thirteen men for half ot the spell.

The following will represent New Zealand in the second test match against Australia, to be played hereon Saturday ; Fu 11- hack—Coleman(Taranak i).
Three-quarters—Wallace, Mitchinson (Wellington), Fryer (Canterbury).
Five - eighths Hunter and Mynott (Taranaki). Half—Roberts (Wellington). Wing-forward Gillet (Auckland). Forwards Casey (Otago), Hughes (Southland), Cunningham, Nicholson, Francis (Auckland), Johnston (Otago). and Seeling (Auckland).
