SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.

Webb in Good Form.

Sydney, July 31

The final deposit to be paid in the Towns-Webb match has been made.

A contingent of New Zealanders by the Wimraera journeyed to the river and witnessed the training. Webb’s work consisted of two journeys over the full course. He was paced by Mitchell. Local critics declared that he has showed much improvement on his previous runs, the smooth water suiting him better. Some exchampions who were present freely expressed praise at his pace and unquestionable staying powers.

Towns’ backers are pleased at their man’s form, and a good race is expected.
