ODDFELLOWSHIP.
The ordinary fortnightly meetirtg of the Loyal Foxton Lodge was held last night, about twenty members being present. One new member was initiated and one proposed. It was decided to take part in a church parade at a future date not definitely fixed, Bro. R. G. Hickson, G.M., delegate to recent District Delegates meeting, read report of the business transacted, which was of great interest, showing the order throughout the colony to be in a strong financial position and increasing in membership. It was unanimously agreed to pay the secretary a salary, the work now being heavy and needing constant attention. Regret was expressed at the unmanly spirit of several quondam members in drawing sick funds while unfinancial and ultimately leaving the Lodge without notifying the secretary, who explained that the Lodge’s benevolence in this respect had caused a heavy drain on the management fund.
